We are a hard rock band. And sometimes a pop band.

With electronic things. From Luxembourg.

We write songs. Somehow. We play shows. Anywhere.

You're here. Good. You're most welcome.

Biography

My Own Ghost is a hard rock band with modern elements from Luxembourg founded in 2013.

The music relies on Julie's warm and powerful voice and on the musicians' different backgrounds, ranging from pop to metal, by adding some electronic tweaks. Within 9 months, the band hit the stages of Luxembourg and already played some shows in the UK. In August 2014, My Own Ghost signed a record deal with Secret Entertainment from Finland who took charge of the distribution and promotion of their upcoming debut album. After shooting a promo clip of their single ‘Crystal Ball’, My Own Ghost released their first album ‘Love Kills’ in September 2014 to critical acclaim.

In February 2015, My Own Ghost released a first official music video for their second single ‘Silence’. In March, they signed a deal with the established German booking agency Red Lion Music. In July 2015, My Own Ghost performed as support for Dutch symphonic metal band Delain and later on, they supported the Japanese Heavy Metal pioneers Loudness on 4 dates of their European Tour.

2016 started with a UK tour comprising 7 dates and in June My Own Ghost toured again together with their friends from Loudness in Germany and the Netherlands. In the meantime, they recorded their sophomore album, produced by none other than Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Apocalyptica, Amorphis a.o.) and mastered by Svante Forsbäck (Rammstein, Sunrise Avenue, Bullet For My Valentine a.o.).

In 2017, My Own Ghost started their year with some shows in Germany and Belgium, followed by four dates in the UK. In March, they toured together with Tarja Turunen as main support on her ‘Shadow Shows’ in the UK, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland. On April 7th, their second album ‘Life On Standby’ was released via Secret Entertainment and received very good reviews from all over the world. They started to promote the album with a club tour through Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

After having the pleasure to support Alter Bridge on their show in Luxembourg, My Own Ghost continued their promotion efforts by touring for 2 weeks with German metal band Serious Black on their 'Magic World' Tour, as well as with former Accept guitar player Herman Frank, leading them to Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, UK, France, Spain and Italy.

With the release of a new music video for 'Hope' and selected shows in the UK, 2018 got off to a great start. Shortly after, My Own Ghost released a lyric video for 'Don't Say You Love Me' and toured with Pokerface from Russia for 12 shows across Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. In July 2018, they hit the road again with Loudness from Japan on their 'Rise To Glory Over Europe' Tour as special guests upon request of Loudness themselves. They also had the opportunity to support 80’s legend Robin Beck from the US on 3 dates of her 'Love Is Coming' Tour in Santander, Madrid and Barcelona.

In September 2018, My Own Ghost embarked on a tour of three and a half weeks across Germany and Austria, where they supported Saving Abel (USA), Puddle Of Mudd (USA) and And Then She Came (DE) on their respective Tours.

After having accompanied OTEP (USA) on their ‘Art Of Dissent’ Tour throughout Austria, Italy and the UK in February 2019, My Own Ghost dedicated this year mainly to the work on their third album. In July 2019, they had the opportunity to work with renowned Belgian photographer Tim Tronckoe.

2020 started with a tour of 20 dates in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, supporting Alex Band of The Calling (USA). For the remainder of 2020, My Own Ghost teamed up again with Hiili Hiilesmaa and Svante Forsbäck and completed work on their third album. Since due to the pandemic in 2021 unfortunately only very few concerts were possible, My Own Ghost used this time as best as possible and released 3 new singles in autumn of said year.

In May 2022, My Own Ghost signed a record deal with the German label Massacre Records and released their third album 'Shadow People' on October 14th, 2022.

After having performed at the Wacken Open Air Festival 2023, My Own Ghost are now busy working on their fourth album and can’t wait to hit the road again in 2024.
